I am incredibly excited for today’s blog post and I’m so happy it’s finally here! ![]() ![]() In this shockingly candid and surprisingly moving memoir, this thoughtful and introspective woman opens up about life inside the Mansion, the drugs, the sex, the abuse, the infamous parties, and her real behind-the-scenes life with Bridget, Kendra, and, of course, Mr. After losing her identity, her sense of self-worth, and her hope for the future, Holly found herself sitting alone in a bathtub contemplating suicide. But instead of ending her life, Holly chose to take charge of it. Life inside the notorious Mansion wasn’t a dream at all-and quickly became her nightmare. But like Alice’s journey into Wonderland, after Holly plunged down the rabbit hole, what seemed like a fairytale life inside the Playboy Mansion-including A-list celebrity parties and her own #1-rated television show for four years-quickly devolved into an oppressive routine of strict rules, manipulation, and battles with ambitious, backstabbing bunnies. “A spontaneous decision at age twenty-one transformed Holly into the Mansion’s #1 girlfriend. ![]() Down The Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny is Holly Madison’s first published book and New York Times best seller, which tells the story of her life from small-town girl to an in-depth look inside the Playboy Mansion. ![]() ![]() We reserve the right to moderate at our own discretion. ![]() ![]() Social Media links & blogs (Twitter, Facebook Instagram, YouTube).Trolling, insults, or excessive hostility.Memes, image macros, jokes, circlejerking, or spamming.Low-effort comments or ones that do not contribute to discussion.Blatant Self Promotion - do not submit feedback for your writing here.Reposts: Use reddit's search function to check if your question has already been submitted.Mobile links/link shorteners/Facebook links.DAE/TIL/ELI5/PSA/(SERIOUS)/CMV styled titles.Submissions with no direct connection to books (this includes circlejerky submissions). ![]()
![]() ![]() The Makarov would not have been her first choice but on assignments like this you used what was available. ![]() As she waited her turn in line at the check-in counter at the Air France section of Thomas Sankara International Airport Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, no one would have guessed that earlier she had shot a man three times in the head with a Makarov 9x18mm pistol. ![]() She had enjoyed them in her youth but now she had other, more valuable skills-skills she had put into practice hours earlier. She was well aware that her looks had a limited shelf life. At just over forty she still turned heads, a trait she often worked to her advantage both personally and professionally, but even as confident and, more importantly, competent as she was, it was not lost on her that fewer heads were turning these days. ![]() ![]() ![]() Brian Evenson has a thing for writing quirky murder mystery-pieces. A stranded mining colony is struggling to keep up oxygen reserves while an unknown dust is infiltrating the compound and seemingly turning miners against one another. ![]() The first one is The Dust, a 50-pages murder mystery featuring space miners. There are two stories from A Collapse of Horses that particularly stuck with me. I would even perhaps call it the gateway drug for those who want to get into his work. A Collapse of Horses is Brian Evenson's latest short story collection and, to my knowledge, his best and most accessible yet. ![]() Each story is so demanding and immersive, it's tough to repeatedly start over with the same focus each time. His short stories have always been a tad more challenging for readers because of their original, but fragmented nature. They know how highly I think of his work, which I can only describe as a minimalist compromise between horror and psychological thrillers. Brian Evenson doesn't need any introduction to readers of this site. ![]() ![]() ![]() Follow on Twitter InstagramInstagram has returned invalid data. ![]() The first graphic project of the Tricromia books was by Stefano Ricci, now the design is entrusted to Sara Verdone who takes care of the entire graphic image of the gallery. Together with the authors he decided to “fix” the beauty of their drawings in publications, mainly books, but also precious boxes, papers and author’s notebooks and even a theater. ![]() In recent years, Tricromia has made a further investment in favor of artists, becoming an art editor. ![]() Artists such as Mattotti, Muñoz, Toppi, Pericoli, Altan, Mannelli, Ricci, and many emerging young people, were discovered and presented by Giuseppina Frassino who in the gallery, whose historic headquarters was for years in Via di Panico first and then in Via della Barchetta, has imbued the Roman artistic life with events and exhibitions dedicated to the world of illustration. She has never been satisfied with the evanescence of an exhibition, always “for a fixed period”, implementing constant care in immortalizing the movement of the images that rest on the white walls of the gallery and then take other directions, fly elsewhere. Founded in 1990, for thirty years it has been promoting illustrators and cartoonists with passion and a playful spirit. Eva Luna is the daughter of a professors assistant and a snake-bitten. ![]() ![]() ![]() Her analysis takes on contemporary issues, understanding Brexit through a lens of white fear of multiculturalism and chastising the kind of feminism that refuses to see the how gender and race intertwine. She describes this deep-seated prejudice as "thousands of people with the same biases joining together to make up one organization, and acting according." She points to the "impenetrable white workplace culture" as an example of the collective effects of bias, and shows how black people face these sorts of disadvantages of every stage in life. Eddo-Lodge's crisp prose and impassioned voice implore white Britain to look beyond obvious racism to acknowledge the more opaque existence of structural racism. ![]() Slavery existed as a British institution for 271 years, but most of the plantations that British citizens operated were in the Caribbean, and as a result "most British people saw the money without the blood." Once in Britain, black people encountered "No blacks, no dogs, no Irish" signs in the windows of many establishments. Eddo-Lodge describes Britain's history of slavery, segregation, and discrimination toward black people, and she shows how this history both mirrors and diverges from the history of America's treatment of African-Americans. With its provocative title, this debut book by London journalist Eddo-Lodge is a plainspoken, hard-hitting take on mainstream British society's avoidance of race and the complexities and manifestations of racism. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More than twenty exclusive illustrations capture the magic of Gryffindor house and favourite characters - Harry, Ron and Hermione, Albus Dumbledore, Sirius Black and many more.
